Texas Camping along the San Saba River in the Texas Hill Country
Where else but on the river at the Smith I Bar Ranch can you camp without other
campers next to you – along the San Saba River in the Texas Hill country! Two miles
of river front and don’t forget there is Lake Elsa on the north side
of the property. 100-year-old pecan trees shade the river bottom where wild turkey
nest and you face sheer cliffs of over 50 feet that were created by the flow of
the river millions of years ago. Slide your canoe into the water, fish, swim, and
hike the rest of the ranch. Purely primitive, no facilities are provided so bring
all equipment, food and water. Fire is permitted in fire rings and the wood is everywhere
from past floods. Be cool, no glass and haul your trash home…
